Moving In & Out

Moving In & Out

A smoother move starts with a checklist.

Moving can be a stressful process.  The following checklist has been compiled to assist residents when moving in and out of the complex.  Some of the more important points to remember are:

  • Complete the Moving In / Out Application Form
  • Contact the Building Manager ahead of the move to ensure that the elevator curtains are installed to prevent damage.
  • Arrange a council pickup through the Building Manager for any large items that are being discarded.
  • If you are planning to move in with a small pet, obtain approval from the Owners Corporation before moving in. Tenants must obtain the owner’s permission prior to applying to keep a pet.

Keys, Access & Security

Getting in, getting out, and keeping the building secure.

Mondrian Waterloo runs on a proximity access system – security fobs for buildings, lifts, pool, and car park, plus keyed fire stair access for emergencies. Whether you’re moving in, replacing a lost fob, or briefing a tenant, here’s what you need to know.

Moving in? Speak to your landlord or agent – they’ll arrange your fob through the Strata Manager. Tenants can’t request fobs directly. Allow a few days for processing.

Moving out? Return your fob to the landlord or agent at the end of your tenancy. Unreturned fobs are deactivated at the annual audit, but returning them promptly ensures they can be reissued to the next resident without the cost of a replacement.

For car access, the only entry and exit point is on Powell Street next to Taylor’s College. A proximity reader sits on the right-hand side as you enter and leave. Buildings 2, 3 and 4 connect directly to the car park via lift; Building 1 is accessed via the fire stairs.

Fobs are audited annually. Any unaccounted-for fobs will be deactivated after the audit, so make sure tradies, cleaners, and outgoing tenants hand them back.

Apply & Approve

Submit the Moving In/Out Application Form and, if you have a small pet, lodge a separate pet approval with the Owners Corporation. Tenants need their landlord's permission before applying.

Arrange Access

Speak to your landlord, agent, or the Strata Manager to organise your security fob ahead of move-in day. Tenants can't request fobs directly, so allow a few days for processing.

Book the Lift

Contact the Building Manager to confirm your moving date and have the elevator curtains installed. This protects the lift from damage and reserves it for your move.

Move Day

Keep corridors and lifts clear of debris, lock up behind you, and do a walkthrough before settling in. Welcome to Mondrian.

Plan & Notify

Give your landlord or agent notice, get removalist quotes, sort what's going and what isn't, and update your insurance. Four weeks out is the sweet spot.

Book Services

Contact the Building Manager to schedule elevator curtains for moving day, and arrange a council pickup for any large items being discarded. Don't leave it to the last week.

Final Admin

Redirect your mail, disconnect gas and electricity, finalise the cleaner booking, and notify the Strata Manager that you're moving out so your fob can be reissued.

Move Day

Return your fob to your landlord or agent, do a final walkthrough, clean up any debris from corridors and lifts, and lock everything behind you.
