Application to Keep a Pet

Mondrian Waterloo is a pet-friendly building – but before a pet comes onsite, formal approval from the Owners Corporation is required. This form guides you through everything we need to assess your application. Approval covers the specific pet you nominate, so it’s worth getting the details right the first time. Please allow up to 14 days for your application to be reviewed.

Before you start

Have these details and documents ready before completing the form:

• Your apartment number and lot number (owners will know it; tenants can ask their landlord or agent)
• Your pet’s details – type, breed, age, height, and weight
• A clear photograph of your pet
• Vaccination certificate (for dogs and cats)
• Council registration number and certificate (dogs and cats must be registered by law)
• Micro-chip certificate, if applicable
• If you’re a tenant – your landlord or managing agent’s details, as they’ll need to approve the application too

Incomplete applications can’t be processed and will be returned, so it’s worth gathering everything before you start.

What happens next

Once submitted, your application goes to the Strata Manager, who refers it to the Owners Corporation for consideration. Here’s the process:

• We review your application and supporting documents
• The Owners Corporation assesses the request against By-Law 15
• You’ll be notified of the outcome – please allow up to 14 days
• Once approved, your pet can come onsite

Approval applies only to the pet you’ve nominated. If you get a different pet later, you’ll need to submit a new application.

A few things to know

By applying, you’re agreeing to the conditions set out in By-Law 15, which include:

• Keeping your pet under control and on a leash on common property (off-leash is allowed on the Powell Street lawn and Breezeway)
• Cleaning up after your pet promptly and responsibly
• Taking responsibility for any damage or injury your pet causes
• Understanding that prohibited or declared-dangerous dog breeds aren’t permitted
• Accepting that approval can be withdrawn if the by-law is breached

Renting at Mondrian?

Tenants – you’re welcome to apply for a pet, but you’ll need your landlord’s permission first. Owner approval is part of the application, so reach out to your landlord or agent before submitting.
